I went there in order to buy things, take photos and make videos for the SPRING/SUMMER 2011 TRENDS FORUM curated by Alexandra Senes at PRÊT À PORTER PARIS® fair in September 2010.
The material I brought back from Berlin was edited and mixed with images and sound from Sweden, Mongolia, China... and the final work, sprinkled with keywords, was broadcast in the TRENDSCREEN room.
It's rather fascinating to see how images that were taken at different locations, maybe at the very same time, or separated by years, can actually convey the same concept and evoke similar, if not identical, emotions.
Their symbiotic interaction on several screens and mirrors - often funny and really spot on, sometimes shocking, in between absurd and ultra-realistic - seems to generate a single global image within this dark room. A kind of unified vision of past, present and future.

J'ai parlé de mon voyage à Berlin en juin ici.Ma mission était notamment de faire des vidéos pour le FORUM TENDANCES PRINTEMPS/ÉTÉ 2011 sous la direction artistique d'Alexandra Senes dans le cadre du salon PRÊT À PORTER PARIS® en septembre 2010.
Mes images berlinoises ont été montées et mixées avec du contenu visuel et sonore provenant de Suède, de Mongolie, de Chine... et le tout, arrosé de mots-clés, a été diffusé dans la salle TRENDSCREEN.
Au final, c'est assez troublant de voir comment des images captées à différents endroits, peut-être au même moment, d'autres à des années d'écart, peuvent véhiculer le même concept et évoquer des émotions proches, si ce n'est identiques.
Leur association symbiotique sur plusieurs écrans et miroirs - souvent drôle et très à propos, parfois choquante, entre absurde et ultra-réalisme - semble générer une seule et même image globale dans cette chambre noire. Une sorte de vision unifiée du passé, du présent et du futur.
